Bacon Wrapped Maple Glazed Carrots

Bacon Wrapped Maple Glazed Carrots were born to be the star of your family dinner table. Sweet, savory, and just the right amount of crispiness to make every bite better than the last.

There is truly nothing in the world that isn’t better with a little bacon wrap (especially when that bacon is homemade!)

The crisp bacon on the outside gets caramelized right at the end with this sticky sweet maple glaze and the carrots on the inside are absolutely the pinnacle of tender perfection. Aside from tasting amazing, these things are beyond simple with only 3 real ingredients and so so easy to prep in advance of your big holiday dinner. I like to wrap all of the carrots in bacon either the night before or earlier in the day then cover and refrigerate. After I finish cooking my big turkey and pull it off the grill to rest for 30 minutes, I turn up the temperature a bit and get these carrots on the grill. They will be ready to plate up and serve right as the turkey is ready to carve.

Servings: 6 people

  • 3 pounds whole carrots
  • 1 1/2 pounds bacon
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • salt and pepper to taste

  • Preheat your indirect grill or smoker to 400 degrees F. This can also be done in an oven, if needed.
  • Thoroughly scrub and peel each carrot. Wrap each carrot in a piece of bacon, overlapping the ends so they are secured. Sprinkle each carrot with salt and pepper.
  • Place the wrapped carrots on the grill grates (or on a baking sheet, if using the oven). Close the lid and cook for 25-30 minutes or until the bacon is golden and crisp.
  • During the last 5 minutes of grilling, brush the carrots with the maple syrup. Grill until the syrup starts to bubble, remove from the grill and serve.

Bon appetite!
